"Are you related to Al Schacht?" When I said yes — he remarked that he had gone to school with him and played ball with him as a youngster, and knew him well. He promised to call you when he gets home — but that may be several months of course.

Had dinner at Liebmans's[?] friday night, met Saul's young brother-in-law who is now in the American army — and had a pleasant evenining. The family is quite religious and it was the first time in a long time that I had friday evening dinner with kiddish chalapchas, home baked chalah and wine. They were fine hosts and although their home is not a beautiful one it bears decidedly the stamp of comfort and wealth. They are Americans altho they've been living here many years. And for all their praises for Australia their attitudes are definitely American, and their youngest son, an Australian born twenty year old, is an American citizen.
